Subpopulations of stem-like memory T cells
How do T stem cell-like memory (TSCM) cells help to maintain long-term immune memory? Danai Koftori, Charandeep Kaur, Laura Mora Bitria, Becca Asquith and co-workers reveal that human TSCM cells comprise two distinct subpopulations with complementary roles; one supporting clonal longevity and the other driving expansion and self-renewal, together functioning as a stem cell population.
