New 21st Century Genetics, because we ignore 19th Century Genetics

Posted by forsdyke on 01 Aug 2012 at 18:53 GMT

I share the author's frustration. One answer is to 'go back to square one' - the roots of our subject. I believe many of our problems arise from having not fully digested the 19th and early 20th century studies of Samuel Butler, George Romanes and William Bateson. My web-pages and books attempt to remedy that defect (e.g. "Treasure Your Exceptions. The Science and Life of William Bateson", Springer, New York, 2008).
