The need for Open Access

Posted by gdehrlich on 04 Feb 2010 at 21:33 GMT

I too work at small research institute; and everytime I try to do a literature search I am frustrated that the majority of articles are unavailable to me without having to pay an exhorbitant fee. Not only do I now try to publish in either OA journals or society journals that have a rapid public release policy, I feel that we, as a community, must lobby to make all journals freely available for nonprofit research - after all the public has paid for the vast majority of this work.
